Golden Nuggets: 49ers OL Anthony Davis has some concerns, it seems

Sunday, Sept. 11, 2016 edition of the Golden Nuggets, a daily compilation of San Francisco 49ers links from around the Internet.

Good morning everyone. I'm writing the Golden Nuggets waaaay later than I usually do and they're already going to be late so we're going to keep things brief. San Francisco 49ers offensive lineman Anthony Davis had some issues that needed to be resolved and was apparently considering retirement, but maybe is not considering that now?

It's a tricky situation, and one that I considered prior to Davis making his return. He's obviously not somebody the 49ers can give a five-year extension to (he already has a massive one) and expect him to be around for all five of those years. He doesn't really scream "long-term security" but at the moment we're not even positive if he's short-term security.

Whatever the case, given the past couple seasons and offseasons, this makes plenty of sense for the 49ers. This is the perfect way for San Francisco to start the regular season and I, for one, am looking forward to the epic duel between Blaine Gabbert and Case Keenum on Monday Night Football.

Onto your links for the day.
