The San Francisco 49ers were beaten pretty badly by the Carolina Panthers, and while I think there are limited victories to take from the game, there are some amusing positives.
First, the Seattle Seahawks lost to the Los Angeles Rams. This game coupled with the Arizona Cardinals pummeling the Tampa Bay Buccaneers means all four NFC West teams are tied at 1-1. The first tiebreaker is divisional record, and the 49ers hold that edge with a 1-0 record thanks to their win over the Rams. The Rams are now 1-1 in the division, while the Seahawks are 0-1, and the Cardinals are 0-0. That means the 49ers technically in first place. It might not last long, but we can enjoy it for now!
The other amusing development? This one, related to the Seahawks loss:
Russell Wilson's 17-game streak with a passing TD is snapped.

It was the longest active streak, which now belongs to Blaine Gabbert (12).
Yep, Blaine Gabbert has completed a touchdown pass in twelve straight games. With Russell Wilson being held without a touchdown in Week 2, Gabbert leads the NFL with 12 straight games throwing a touchdown. I don’t even know what to say about this, but considering what we saw for stretches today, it amuses me to no end in a sort of depraved way.
