Good morning everyone. The San Francisco 49ers took down the San Diego Charger in the relatively meaningless fourth preseason game. Colin Kaepernick played decently for the first couple drives, but otherwise didn’t do a whole lot to convince Chip Kelly or anyone else watching that he deserves the starting job. I think he should be the starter, personally, but that’s old news at this point.

Marcus Rush was very good once again, though I’m still unsure if he’ll make the roster. My gut tells me there are just too many guys ahead of him who are likely to contribute more, and despite Rush once again being a preseason star I expect him to be among the roster cuts.

Kaepernick will not be among those cuts. Some think it’s possible, but I don’t see why the 49ers would even entertain this notion with Blaine Gabbert as their starter. That would just be a silly move from Trent Baalke.

Onto your links for the day.
