The San Francisco 49ers had an unexpected bye week this week, right? Nothing actually happened. They did not just go up to Seattle and get embarrassed on TV. They did not give up 400+ yards of offense to an awful Seahawks defense. They did not fail to convert their first ten third down attempts. None of that happened, right?

I am just going to operate under the assumption that the 49ers forgot about their flight, and by the time they arrived, somehow Seattle had gone up 37-3 on some local amateur team. I would prefer to think that is the case instead of, oh my god, this team is abysmal. But, we’ll get to wait until this coming Sunday for some kind of idea what to make of the past two weeks of awful defensive performances.
