The San Francisco 49ers’ own house of horrors struck once again. CenturyLink Field has been a rough place for the 49ers since they last won a game there in 2011. The 49ers are in a similar place as last season when they were blown out in Week 3 on the road against a NFC West rival. Last season after losing in a short week to the Steelers, the 49ers were hammered before halftime 31-7 and ended up losing 47-7 to the Arizona Cardinals. This time, it was Seattle who put up the big lead at the half up 24-3 and ultimately winning 37-18.

It was an ugly game from the onset for the 49ers. They gave up a TD in 3 plays to a Seattle team that had only scored one TD in their 1st 2 games. The 49ers offense then immediately had a 3 and out and Seattle scored their 2nd TD of the game on an impressive 14 play drive. From that point, the rout was on. Seattle’s offense was clicking all game and racked up 418 yards. Christine Michael tore thru the 49ers defense for 2 TDs and 106 yards. The 49ers defense has given up 947 yards in 2 weeks. The offense made the score look better than the game actually was with Carlos Hyde scoring 2 TDs in the 4th quarter when the game was long over.

In the 2nd time in 15 months, Anthony Davis retired from the NFL once again. He missed practice on September 10th and there were reports that he was pondering retirement for a 2nd time. He had not practiced since September 15th when the team said he was experiencing concussion symptoms. This time the 49ers are in better shape on the offensive line compared to the last time he retired.
