Good Morning! Today a few things happen. I for one have my fantasy draft (yeahhhhh second pick), but more importantly, the San Francisco 49ers will have to make a team of their own, the 53-man roster.
Sure, the 4th preseason game doesn’t have much ‘wow’ with the starters sitting, but a few players certainly made their case that night as to why they should make the cut. Marcus Rush looks like someone that could be devastating with just a bit more development, Kelvin Taylor made his case to stay off the practice squad, and Colin Kaepernick quite simply is not going to the bench, or the cut-line, without a fight.
Kap looked pretty good... against the backups. Then again, last week they were sitting a few of the 1s and Kap was getting ducks batted down at the line of scrimmage. Progress. Kaepernick is going to be paid whether he’s cut or not, and he’s been slow to grow in this offense, what’s a few more weeks to see if he can get even better? Unless if Blaine Gabbert turns into Tom Brady, this competition will spill into the regular season and it’s a good guess that we’ll see Kaepernick on the field once more in a 49er uniform before it’s all over.
