49ers-Cowboys picks and predictions: Mixed opinions across the board

New, comments

The San Francisco 49ers return home for Week 4, facing the Dallas Cowboys. We run down various picks and predictions for the game.

We’re back for Week 4, and we had a stinker on TNF. The Cincinnati Bengals had little trouble with the Miami Dolphins, beating them by a final score of 22-7. The Patriots shut out the Texans last week, but there was something intriguing about watching Jacoby Brissett out there. This week, it was just kind of meh.

But, it’s over, and we can begin the move to Sunday. It was just the crappy appetizer for Sunday and Monday, with 14 games scheduled for Sunday, and what could be an important Monday Night Football matchup between the Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants. For our purposes however, we await the San Francisco 49ers. They are back home for their second home game of the season, facing the Dallas Cowboys. The 49ers opened as a 2.5-point underdog, and we’ve seen the line move around a bit. The injury news about Dez Bryant and Tyron Smith has people moving lines left and right with the Cowboys favored by a point or two.

We’ve got a decent amount of people thinking the 49ers can get the home upset. Not a huge number, but more than I would have expected. The Cowboys are coming off a home win over Chicago, while the 49ers were pummeled up in Seattle. Recency bias can sometimes impact people. But maybe people recognize that the 49ers defense will look better than last week, and potentially shake up the Cowboys rookie quarterback.

Here are some picks and predictions around the media. You can also offer up your own prediction below.
