The San Francisco 49ers made a pair of trades shortly before the deadline to cut to 53 players. They dealt an undisclosed draft pick to the Kansas City Chiefs for Rod Streater, and also acquired an undisclosed draft pick from the Seattle Seahawks in exchange for special teams player L.J. McCray.
The Streater traded ended up being an exchange of conditional seventh round picks in the 2019 NFL Draft. There is no word yet on what the conditions are, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a potentially inconsequential trade of picks.
Matt Maiocco has the latest on the McCray trade. He is reporting that the 49ers received a conditional seventh round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. There is no word on the conditions, but for this kind of deal, it is either making the roster past a certain point in the season, or potentially getting X amount of snaps. McCray is a solid special teams player, so he will hopefully be able to stick with Seattle for the purposes of the pick.
