Apparently we can do this like clock work. For the third straight offseason, San Francisco 49ers CEO Jed York will meet with the media to discuss why a head coach was fired, and what is next for an organization in a tailspin. The only difference this year is general manager Trent Baalke has also been fired, so it will be Jed up there on his own answering questions. The press conference is scheduled for 10 a.m. PT.
Two years ago, "accountable" was the key word of the press conference. It became a running joke from there, even leading to banners over Levi’s Stadium. I imagine he will get a question about holding himself accountable, but there is not a whole lot he can say in that regard. We’ll see what this year’s "phrase that pay" will be.
You can watch Jed’s press conference up above, and if that does not work, you can also watch it at 49ers.com/live. We’ll have a transcript later today, and plenty of analysis of his cliched responses. Site decorum remains off for the next few days while we wait and see what will happen.
