2017 NFL mock draft database: Considering 18 different 49ers picks

New, comments

We’ve got a collection of mock drafts from around the Internet. Here’s what they tell us.

The first weekend of the 2017 NFL playoffs wraps up on Sunday, but in the meantime, I have put together an update of the 2017 Niners Nation NFL mock draft database. More and more mock drafts are moving to regular weekly updates, but we still have some mainstream mocks that are taking time to get back into the swing of things.

That being said, the latest update suggests things are going to be pretty similar for the time being. We currently have 18 mock drafts included. Of those mocks, 14 have Texas A&M pass rusher Myles Garrett going No. 1 to the Cleveland Browns. Of the remaining four, three go with Alabama defensive lineman Jonathan Allen, and one goes with North Carolina quarterback Mitch Trubisky.

For the 49ers, eight go with Trubisky. The four that did not mock Garrett to the Browns have him going second to the 49ers. Four more went with Notre Dame quarterback DeShone Kizer, and two more went with Allen.

Garrett is viewed by many as the likely No. 1 pick, but after that there are plenty of questions. Alabama inside linebacker Reuben Foster has been mentioned in connection with the 49ers, as as Clemson quarterback DeShaun Watson. The team could elect to trade down, particularly if someone else is high on Jonathan Allen.

Will Trubisky remain the likely No. 2, or will we see a decent amount of shuffling. Some will mix things up just to generate discussion, but ideally tracking 20+ mocks deeper into the offseason will help level that out a bit.

Is there anybody not discussed in these mocks you think pops into the mix?
