Golden Nuggets: Entering the second week of the 49ers GM, HC search

New, comments

San Francisco 49ers links for Monday, January 9, 2017.

Good morning, 49ers fans! The first round of the playoffs came to a close Sunday evening, and while eight teams continue their run to Super Bowl 51, the San Francisco 49ers continue their search for a new general manager and head coach.

The team was active over the weekend, interviewing New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels on Saturday and Indianapolis Colts VP of football operations Jimmy Raye III on Sunday. The 49ers will interview coaching candidate Sean McVay and Sean McDermott GM candidate Brandon Beane on Monday.

The 49ers are interviewing a ton of candidates for both their GM and head coach positions, and I am curious how long this process will take exactly. Normally there will be a second round of interviews with a smaller sub-set of candidates. The 49ers have interviews planned through next Monday, although right now they don’t have any planned for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, or Saturday this week. I am wondering if we see them start a second round of interviews even with other first interviews still planned?
