Welcome back for another week of San Francisco 49ers football! The 49ers travel to Glendale to face the Arizona Cardinals. The game time is 1:05 p.m. PT, and will air on FOX. The announcers in the booth will be Sam Rosen and David Diehl, and the sideline reporter will be Jen Hale. The 49ers are a 6.5-point underdog, according to our friends at Odds Shark.

The 49ers head into this game sitting at 0-3, and bringing up the rear in the NFC West. After a bad Week 1 loss at home to the Carolina Panthers, the 49ers lost at home to the Seattle Seahawks and on the road to the Los Angeles Rams by a combined five points. Losses count the same regardless, but it was nice to see the 49ers put up a serious fight in both games.

The Cardinals are 1-2 and tied with Seattle for second place in the division. It remains fairly wide open, and this is a must-win for the Cardinals. They can’t afford home divisional losses, and particularly one to the worst team in the division. If the 49ers can swing the upset in this one, it would certainly shake up the division to a certain degree.

The line on this game has varied, and I really much preferred when it was consistently at a touchdown. You can still find seven points at some sites, and that hook could prove valuable. I think we see a close game here that the 49ers can cover if they get their pass rush in order. If they can get even a modicum of production on offense, getting Carson Palmer under pressure will be the key. As such, I took the 49ers at +6.5 in the SuperContest.

The big issue for Arizona is their offensive line. They will be without guards Mike Iupati and Alex Boone, who have split time at left tackle this season. Neither will be available due to injury, and left tackle D.J. Humphries is a big question mark as well. If they are missing both starters on the left side, that will be a big opportunity for the 49ers pass rush.

We are currently awaiting word on running back Carlos Hyde. The team listed him as questionable with the hip injury he suffered last week. Kyle Shanahan said he will be a game-time decision, and I suspect we hear something this morning from Ian Rapoport or Adam Schefter. Whether he is active or not, I would expect a healthy dose of Matt Breida, and maybe some Raheem Mostert.

The team is expected to have Kyle Juszczyk and Jaquiski Tartt back in the starting lineup, and Brock Coyle back as a core special teamer. The three of them suffered concussions last week on Thursday Night Football. All three are listed as questionable but have progressed through the concussion protocol, and Shanahan said he’s optimistic about their chances of playing today.
