The Arizona Cardinals honored Hall of Fame quarterback Kurt Warner during halftime of their game with the San Francisco 49ers. After he thanked his family, Warner got the crowd riled up during his speech calling out the 49ers saying it’s appropriate that he was being honored with the 49ers in town.
I don't think anyone is more responsible for me being in the Hall of Fame more than the 49ers.
Warner spent the bulk of his career in the NFC West, putting up some big numbers against the 49ers. In 14 games, his teams were 10-4, and he completed 64.9 percent of his passes for 3,807 yards with 24 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. It is of course also worth noting that the 49ers pursued him in free agency back in 2009. It did not pan out, but that certainly might have shifted the balance of power in the division.
The best revenge on Sunday would have been a 49ers victory, but I suppose for Kurt Warner’s day, it was fitting that Larry Fitzgerald was the guy who secured the win over the 49ers.
