The Arizona Cardinals are struggling right now, but they also sit one game out of first place in the NFC West. The Cardinals look like a team that should consider the future, but the Seahawks win over the Rams leaves the door open for now.
And so, Arizona decided to make a trade that is entirely about this year. The Cardinals dealt a conditional draft pick to New Orleans in exchange for running back Adrian Peterson.
AP has not been able to establish a role in his first year in New Orleans, but it us safe to say Bruce Arians will give him a big opportunity. Arizona's run game has been in shambles since David Johnson was lost for at least two months. I'm skeptical AP has much left in the tank, but we'll find out in a hurry down in Glendale. I still think they finish third in the division this year, but maybe AP has a last spark to get their offense going.
