The San Francisco 49ers surprised a few of us earlier this offseason when they decided to release wide receiver Jeremy Kerley, a few months after signing him to a three-year contract extension. The team was happy with the development of Trent Taylor, and he has certainly shown a lot of progress.
It sounds like Kerley is not taking the decision personally, or at least has gotten over any bitter feelings he might have had. He recently conducted an Instagram Live chat in which he talked about the 49ers. Somebody said they stink, and Kerley was quick to say he thinks they’ll turn things around. He said they just need some time, and then I think he said that Kyle Shanahan is one of the smartest coaches he’s ever worked with. I’m at an airport listening to this, so I might have misheard it, but it sounds like he says, “Kyle Shanahan, that might be one of the smartest mother-f*****g coaches I’ve ever played with.”
