2018 NFL Draft order: The New York Giants are a mess through five weeks

Week 10 is gonna be a big one.

The San Francisco 49ers and Cleveland Browns are favorites to land the top pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, but they are getting some serious competition from the New York Giants. They sit at 0-5 with the other two teams, and things do not seem to be getting better anytime soon.

This week has seen the team suspend cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie indefinitely for reasons that are still hard to figure out. There is talk he walked in and then just left from a recovery day session, others saying it is related to being inactive, and others talking about it related to him taking off his pads at halftime of a game. Whatever the case, the organization is dealing with considerable turmoil that could eventually cost Ben McAdoo his job.

While there is the embarrassment factor, the on-field play has plenty of other problems. The offensive line has struggled, and now Eli Manning is losing skill position players left and right. Wide receivers Odell Beckham Jr. and Brandon Marshall were lost for the season, and wide receiver Sterling Shepard has an ankle injury that is expected to keep him out this Sunday against the Denver Broncos. Running back Paul Perkins is sidelined with a rib injury, while Orleans Darkwa has a calf injury.

The Giants are a nine-point underdog this weekend in Denver, and the public is wagering heavily on the Broncos. It seems like a strong bet in my Survivor Pool, but what do we make of the Giants moving forward? Their remaining schedule includes the following:

Week 6: @ Denver Broncos
Week 7: vs. Seattle Seahawks
Week 8: BYE
Week 9: vs. Los Angeles Rams
Week 10: @ San Francisco 49ers
Week 11: vs. Kansas City Chiefs
Week 12: @ Washington
Week 13: @ Oakland Raiders
Week 14: vs. Dallas Cowboys
Week 15: vs. Philadelphia Eagles
Week 16: @ Arizona Cardinals
Week 17: vs. Washington

It’s safe to say that Week 10 matchup is looming rather large!
