Golden Nuggets: Bring on Washington!

Sunday, October 15th, 2017 edition of the Golden Nuggets, a daily compilation of San Francisco 49ers links from around the Internet.

Today, the San Francisco 49ers will try, once again, for their first win of the season. They will be without linebacker NaVorro Bowman, a fixture of the franchise who was released due to his declining play and displeasure with his role. I’m sure it won’t be long until Bowman finds somewhere else to play, and it’s going to suck seeing him in another jersey.

But for now, the players that are still around will take on Washington in what should be an interesting game given the connection to Kirk Cousins. I haven’t seen much from Cousins to think that he gives the 49ers a chance at being competitive with the current supporting cast so I’m not sure what all the fuss is about, but a lot of people like him and the 49ers are apparently in that group.

As for expectations ... I don’t see the 49ers winning today, sorry. I imagine they will be 0-6, talking about how close they could have been to 4-2, or even 5-1. Lather, rinse repeat. Let’s get on to your links for the day.
