The San Francisco 49ers faced off against Kirk Cousins and Washington on Sunday, and it turned into a wild affair. Cousins had a field day for significant stretches, and while he had some accuracy issue at times, he put together some big numbers in a narrow Washington win.
However, the big story was Kyle Shanahan’s decision to bench Brian Hoyer and give C.J. Beathard a chance to spark the offense. Beathard came on in the second quarter, and finished the game 19 of 36 for 245 yards, with one touchdown and one interception. Beathard had his struggles, but he showed Kyle Shanahan enough to get the start this weekend against Dallas.
After the game, Beathard and Cousins met up at midfield, as is usually the case with opposing quarterbacks. There was a solid picture in our photo editor (see above), and then this photo posted by the 49ers to Instagram.
The 49ers went with the caption “Game recognize game.” Certainly a solid enough choice, but it’s safe to say we can all do better. I’d like to see what y’all got for both pictures. When posting your caption, go with “Picture 1” for the photo above, and “Picture 2” for the photo below. Some captions could work for both, but I imagine some might have options for each. Rec the ones you like!
