One third of the players in this 2018 49ers calendar are no longer on the team

This is not an ideal calendar for 2018.

The San Francisco 49ers have been overhauling their roster all year long, and with the NFL trade deadline approaching in two weeks, we could see more changes. And even if things settle down for the rest of this year calendar year, it’s safe to say things will be busy in 2018 when the offseason arrives.

With that in mind, you should probably hold off on purchasing any 49ers calendars that feature players. Someone recently sent along a link to a 2018 49ers calendar at calendars.com, and it’s kind of amusing how outdated it is. The 49ers have released Ahmad Brooks, Jeremy Kerley, and NaVorro Bowman, and traded Vance McDonald. That’s a third of the calendar, and doesn’t include the fact that Zane Beadles has been benched.

If we’re looking ahead to 2018, the list could grow even shorter. Carlos Hyde and Eric Reid are both free agents after this season. I don’t think we see them release Joe Staley anytime soon, but I’d imagine most veterans are on notice at this point. I think we see some of these players get extensions, but we could see plenty more get released or traded between now and the time their 2018 calendar month approaches!
