One of my favorite screenshots from a 49ers game over the past decade is the shot of Patrick Willis and Takeo Spikes lining up against the then San Diego Chargers with matching clubs on their respective right hands. Most of you probably remember it.

When word got out that Arik Armstead had broken his hand, I know I was not the only person to recall this picture. I tweeted it out, and proceeded to get inundated with responses from people calling Armstead soft. He has dealt with multiple injuries in his career, but I’d bet good money that anybody who tweets or comments that he is soft would not say that to his face.
For those wondering about Armstead potentially wearing a club on his broken hand, he cleared that one up on Wednesday. He tweeted out a picture of him playing with a club back at Oregon, and said the club is not an option with his current injury. So, I think it’s safe to say we can move on from that topic.
For all you geniuses that think your doctors. If I could play with a club I would wasn't an option pic.twitter.com/RKcSQtuHHo
