49ers re-sign Logan Paulsen

Again, that was quick.

NFL: Los Angeles Chargers at San Francisco 49ers Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

Just as quickly as the 49ers parted ways with cornerback Leon Hall, they have quickly brought tight end Logan Paulsen back into the fold. After reports that Hall was being released, the 49ers announced his release and Paulsen’s signing to a new one-year contract.

The Paulsen signing all but assures us that fullback Kyle Juszczyk will not play this week. Juszczyk suffered a back injury in Week 5, and after missing practice all last week, did not play in Week 6. He missed Wednesday practice, and my guess is he will miss practice today and on Friday.

The 49ers promoted Cole Hikutini to the 53-man roster last week. He had two offensive snaps and eight special teams snaps, while Paulsen had three offensive snaps and 19 special teams snaps. My guess is things will not change a whole lot, with George Kittle and Garrett Celek getting the bulk of the work.
