The San Francisco 49ers wrapped up an overtime loss to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 4, and we saw some changes to the playing time rotation due to various injuries. You can check out the snap count down below, or read the game book PDF.
Running back Matt Breida played a career high 26 snaps and had a career high ten touches on offense. He’s a rookie so career highs are not surprising, but it is notable. Carlos Hyde was listed as questionable with a hip injury. Kyle Shanahan said Hyde was hurting, so it was not surprising that the team gave Breida more work. He struggled to get going, but still was a useful option to spell Hyde from time to time.
Wide receiver Marquise Goodwin suffered a head injury early in the game, and that resulted in more work for Aldrick Robinson and Victor Bolden. Robinson played 87 percent of offensive snaps, and was the leading target with 12. Bolden, usually a pure special teamer got 12 offensive snaps. He was not targeted in the passing game.
