It sounds like Colin Kaepernick might have something other than his on-going NFL grievance to keep him occupied while teams sign other quarterbacks. Page Six of the New York Post is reporting that the free agent quarterback has landed a book deal worth a little over $1 million.
Kaepernick reportedly signed the deal with Random House imprint One World. They have served as publisher for Ta-Nehisi Coates and Jay-Z.
There is no word yet on what the book will be about. Given how his 49ers career has gone, it could go in a whole host of directions. It could focus on the protests, his views on racial justice, and everything about the past two years. Although the past two years have been particularly intriguing on a personal level for him, the previous portion of his NFL career was not for lack of intrigue. I imagine there are plenty of topics he could hit on in a book, and yes, I’ll be buying it as soon as it’s available.
