Golden Nuggets: Kyle and the 0-7 Start

Wednesday, October 25th, 2017 edition of the Golden Nuggets, a daily compilation of San Francisco 49ers links from the Internet

NFL: Dallas Cowboys at San Francisco 49ers Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

Kyle Shanahan is having a rough start to his NFL head coaching debut. Even though he has a 6 year deal to give him time to rebuild this roster, not winning a game cannot feel good to Kyle. But he can keep perspective knowing that no one expected him to make this team a contender without a total rebuild. This roster has holes and needs a infusion of talent.

Other than Sunday’s blowout loss to Dallas, the 49ers have had chances to win in most of their games. Kyle and the team can also look to 49ers history to feel better about their 0-7 start. Legendary 49ers coach Bill Walsh also started 0-7 in his 1st season and had a 2-14 record by the end of it. He helped turn that into a 1st Super Bowl title for the 49ers just 2 years later.

The 49ers will try to end their losing streak this weekend when they take on Carson Wentz and the Eagles. Reuben Foster should be ready to go after suffering a rib injury against Dallas. He went through a MRI and x-ray, but luckily everything came back negative. The team also made some roster moves. They signed Datone Jones and resigned Leon Hall. They replaced Xavier Cooper and Logan Paulsen on the roster.
