The San Francisco 49ers returned to practice on Wednesday, and we do have one bit of good news. Fullback Kyle Juszczyk returned to the practice field and told the media he expects to play on Sunday.
Juszcyzk suffered a back injury in Week 5, which result him in not practicing or playing in Week 6 and 7. Head coach Kyle Shanahan said before practice that they would get him back to practice in a blue non-contact jersey, which happened.
The 49ers need some reinforcements in run blocking and pass protection, and getting Juszczyk back would be a huge help. They opened the season playing a decent amount of two-back sets with Juszczyk. When he got hurt, they were left playing their tight ends more, and it just has not been the same. Giving some of the issues the pass protection had against Dallas, Juszczyk’s return would be big for rookie quarterback C.J. Beathard.
