Golden Nuggets: Is 0-7 a winning culture?

The whole theme of Shanahan and Lynch taking over the 49ers was that they were going to bring in a winning culture. Don’t you have to have wins in order to have a winning culture? I keep hearing people talking about tanking to get a good draft pick but I don’t see that bringing a winning culture. It is more of a desperation culture. Drafting in one of the top five spots every year is a Cleveland Brown culture.

I personally think our defense is getting worse by the week. That dysfunctional group of players we put on the fields last week was painful to watch. I liked the idea of using defensive formations to keep Reid, Tart, and Ward on the field as much as possible but moving Reid to linebacker seems a bit pee wee football to me. We appear to have a bunch of players on the defense but I don’t see where Saleh has put together anything that resembles a team yet. They just look like a bunch of players on the field trying to figure out where they belong.

I really wanted to see us do more in free agency with the offensive line last year. I think Shanahan is actually using scheme to make them look better than they are. I have no hope for our offense until we get some interior lineman that can play at the NFL level.

Rome wasn’t built in a day. I guess I need to just be patient and see what happens. Anyway, onto those sizzling hot links.
