Joe Staley left 49ers-Eagles game after suffering gash under his eye, ruled OUT [UPDATE]

The 49ers are losing offensive linemen like crazy.

Fooch’s update: Joe Staley has been ruled OUT for the rest of 49ers-Eagles.

The San Francisco 49ers are struggling to get much of anything going on offense, and injuries are not helping. Left tackle Joe Staley suffered a nasty gash under his right eye during the pick six C.J. Beathard threw late in the second quarter of the 49ers Week 8 matchup with the Eagles. He was not pleased on the blindside block that set this up, giving a long look at the Eagles sideline as he left the field.

The 49ers offensive line finished the first half with their last reserve in the game. Trent Brown is inactive due to a concussion. Garry Gilliam started in his place, but was ruled out in the second quarter with a knee injury. Zane Beadles replaced him. When Staley went down, Erik Magnuson came in the game. Magnuson and Beadles are primarily interior linemen, so this is not quite the ideal situation.

The 49ers will return shortly for the third quarter, at which point we’ll get a status update on Staley. He went to the locker room before the end of the half, according to Matt Maiocco, likely to get stitched up. We’ll
