And so begins the San Francisco 49ers eighth effort to get win number one. The 49ers are on the road in Week 8, facing the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field. The game gets going at 10:00 a.m. PT on FOX, and will have Kenny Albert and Charles Davis calling the game from the booth, with Pam Oliver on the sideline.
This game marks the 49ers final road game until December. They have three home games and a bye over the next four weeks. They might need some battery recharging at home given how this game might shake out. The 49ers are a 13 points underdog, according to our friends at Odds Shark. This is their second biggest point spread of the season, following a 13.5-point spread against the Seattle Seahawks. The 49ers hung close in that one, so maybe an Eagles letdown could be in the cards of this game!
The 49ers are banged up coming into this game, particularly on the right side of the offensive line. Right tackle Trenton Brown is listed as questionable, but is unlikely to play. He suffered a concussion last week, and sat out all three practices this week. Garry Gilliam will likely get the start in his place. Right guard Brandon Fusco is questionable with a biceps injury. He sat out Wednesday and Thursday practices, but was listed as limited on Friday. If he does not play, Zane Beadles would likely start, although Erik Magnuson would also likely be active for the first time since Week 1.
On the Eagles side, linebacker Jordan Hicks is out with an Achilles injury, while cornerback Ronald Darby is listed as questionable with an ankle injury. Eagles head coach Doug Pederson said Darby is getting better, but still needs to work on “getting back into football shape.” That would seem to suggest he will not play on Sunday.
Here is a full rundown of how to watch today’s game.
