Washington CB Josh Norman unlikely to play next week vs. 49ers

Pierre Garçon will likely get more Bashaud Breeland in Week 6.

The San Francisco 49ers will face the Indianapolis Colts with Andrew Luck sidelined, and it would appear they will face Washington the following week with a notable player absent. The 49ers travel to face Washington in Week 6, and cornerback Josh Norman is expected to miss the game with a rib injury.

Norman left yesterday’s Monday Night Football contest with the rib injury, and did not return. The Kansas City Chiefs proceeded to get on the board once Norman left. Jay Gruden said that Norman is expected to miss a few weeks with the injury. Quinton Dunbar moved into the starting lineup, opposed Bashaud Breeland, with Kendall Fuller serving as the nickel back.

Pierre Garçon faced Patrick Peterson for much of Week 4, and will likely find himself facing Breeland in two weeks. After Marquise Goodwin went down with a concussion vs. Arizona, Aldrick Robinson ended up being Brian Hoyer’s primary target, with a team-leading 12 targets. Trent Taylor was second with ten targets, followed by Garçon, who had eight.
