The San Francisco 49ers and Cleveland Browns remain the only two winless teams in the NFL, but neither got particularly more likely to earn the top pick in the 2018 NFL Draft after Week 8.
That’s because the majority of teams who have almost as bad a record as those two also found themselves on the losing end of games on Sunday, or had bye weeks.
The New York Giants, for instance, had a bye week, and remain 1-6 on the season and spitting distance from the 49ers and Browns both. The Indianapolis Colts and Tampa Bay Buccaneers continued their losing ways and remain the only two-win teams in the league.
Indianapolis has lost their last three, while the Buccaneers have lost their last four. Beyond those two-win teams, there are another four teams who are 3-5, another five who are 3-4, one who is 4-4 and one who is 3-3, so things are still fairly bunched up near the bottom of the list.
About the only team who the 49ers needed to win a game to continue putting themselves out of range: the Cincinnati Bengals. They moved to 3-4 with a win on Sunday. The Baltimore Ravens, as the only 4-4 team in the league, also happened to win, though that occurred on Thursday Night Football.
The 3-5 teams are the New York Jets, Oakland Raiders, Los Angels Chargers and Chicago Bears. All four of those teams were in action on Sunday, and all four came out on the losing end of games.
Cleveland remains in possession of the top pick because they have a weaker strength of schedule than the 49ers (.508 vs. .576). Below you can find the top 10 teams in the current NFL Draft order.
