It’s safe to say Reuben Foster’s ankle is starting to feel better

The 49ers rookie linebacker seems to be getting real close to returning to action.

The San Francisco 49ers returned to practice on Wednesday, and while Reuben Foster is still working on his rehab, it’s safe to say he’s making significant progress. 49ers team reporter Joe Fann posted the video above from practice, and Foster seems to be doing well on his ankle. The team is running back and forth to get loose, and Foster, while not in helmet and jersey, skips along behind them going both ways.

Additionally, during player availability, Grant Cohn saw him playing some basketball on the mini hoop in the locker room.

Running around in warm-ups and playing mini hoop basketball are much different than getting on the field in a game. It would appear the team is taking its time making sure he is fully ready to get back on the field. This week will be his fourth game missed, and my guess is he is back into practice full time next week. Ideally we see him get a limited session in this week at some point, but for now, next week looks like it could be a target week.
