The San Francisco 49ers and most of the rest of the NFL is officially kicking off the second quarter of the 2017 season. The week got going with the New England Patriots holding off the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday Night Football.
We’re back once again continuing preparations for the San Francisco 49ers Week 5 road matchup against the Indianapolis Colts. The 49ers once again are looking for their first win of the season. They are 0-4, and coming off three straight single possession losses. They lost to the Seattle Seahawks, Los Angeles Rams, and Arizona Cardinals by a combined eight points. They had a shot at winning in all of them, but couldn’t close the deal.
And so now, the 49ers head into Indianapolis as a 1.5-point underdog. While they are winless on the season, they are 3-1 against the spread. Maybe they can turn that into Kyle Shanahan’s first straight up victory? The 49ers defensive front gets another shaky offensive line, and while Jacoby Brissett is considerably more mobile than Carson Palmer, it will hopefully cause some issues. Carlos Hyde will be plenty important on offense, but it will also come down to Brian Hoyer avoiding that one awful mistake that we seem to see each week.
We took a look around some media, and while many do not pick the 49ers, they generally see a close game. Will the 49ers finally get in the win column?
