49ers depth chart 2017: Who will be inactive vs. Colts in Week 5?

The 49ers’ inactives list should look a little different in Week 5.

The San Francisco 49ers will play the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday and the inactives list should look a little bit different than it did a week ago.

Against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 4, the 49ers declared WR Kendrick Bourne, OL Erik Magnuson, LB Reuben Foster, LB Pita Taumoepenu, LB Mark Nzeocha, CB Ahkello Witherspoon and S Eric Reid inactive. The only differences were easy to spot: Nzeocha was inactive while defensive tackle Xavier Cooper was active.

I think Ray-Ray Armstrong has settled down after playing extremely poorly out of the gate in relief of Foster, and Bowman was also decent a week ago. On the other hand, the defensive line still has some issues with Tank Carradine on injured reserve, so I’d expect that Cooper is active once again, and Nzeocha remains inactive.

The 49ers already ruled out Foster and Reid, though the team thinks both players will be back soon. Foster is dealing with a high ankle sprain while Reid is nursing a minor PCL injury.

There are some guaranteed changes this time around, though. Linebacker Dekoda Watson has already been ruled out with a groin injury, while safety Adrian Colbert has been ruled out with a hamstring injury.

Looking at the previous list of inactives, I’m guessing that Taumoepenu sees his first regular season action, and either Bourne or Witherspoon are active to take the other spot. My guess is Witherspoon will be active, but I doubt he sees the field on defense. Colbert doesn’t really, and Witherspoon has a long way to go until he’s game ready.

I see Witherspoon in the same vein as C.J. Beathard. He’s very raw and the 49ers would gain little insight throwing him into the defensive rotation at this point in the season.

Who do you think will be the inactives on Sunday?
