I’ll just once again reiterate what I said the last couple days.
1: The San Francisco 49ers are trying to win a game tomorrow and I think they will.
2: They won’t bench Hoyer unless he’s injured.
As for the win, I do think it’s possible. The Indianapolis Colts have their own sort of trouble to deal with, and I think that’s perfect for the 49ers to come in and get a ‘W’. Frank Gore will have some fun with the team, I do think he’ll get close to, but won’t crack a bill. 96 yards is my prediction. Besides Gore and receiver T.Y. Hilton, the Colts don’t have much of anything. I’d venture to say the 49ers may have a better core group than that team (though that may be a stretch). But that game is no gimmie. The 49ers won’t be winning if they give up a field in penalties and if Brian Hoyer’s receivers drop balls.
Which brings me to number two—Hoyer isn’t going anywhere. Simple as that. Unless he throws 5 pick sixes on consecutive drives, there’s no way they are going to let backup C.J. Beathard hit the field. Face it everyone, it’s the season of Hoyer.
