Former San Francisco 49ers running back Frank Gore has achieved yet another significant career milestone, and he did it against his former team. The now Indianapolis Colts rusher went into Sunday’s game at Lucas Oil Stadium just 3 yards behind Eric Dickerson on the all-time rushing yards list.

Gore came into the game with 13,256 rushing yards, while Dickerson finished his career with 13,259 rushing yards. Gore, of course, has managed to eclipse 3 yards against the 49ers on Sunday, and so moves into seventh all-time on the rushing leaderboard.

Gore’s first carry went for 9 yards, and he was tackled by NaVorro Bowman on the play.

Next up is Jerome Bettis at No. 6 and LaDainian Tomlinson at No 5. Gore entered Week 5 trailing Bettis by 406 yards and Tomlinson by 428 yards. After those two is Curtis Martin, who was a healthy 845 yards beyond Gore when Week 5 got underway.

Barry Sanders, Walter Payton and Emmitt Smith are the top three on the leaderboard.
