There was a little excitement around Indianapolis with the unveiling of Peyton Manning’s statue in front of Lucas Oil Stadium. The commissioner was in attendance as well as most of the Colts Hall Of Fame players. Also in attendance for the game was Vice President Mike Pence. Key word: was. Pence left shortly after the performance of the National Anthem claiming that the 49ers during the anthem was the reason.
Looking forward to cheering for our @Colts & honoring the great career of #18 Peyton Manning at @LucasOilStadium today. Go Colts! pic.twitter.com/C3aCYUNpqG

I left today's Colts game because @POTUS and I will not dignify any event that disrespects our soldiers, our Flag, or our National Anthem.

After many other tweets, the Vice President issued a formal statement:
I stand with @POTUS Trump, I stand with our soldiers, and I will always stand for our Flag and our National Anthem. pic.twitter.com/B0zP5M41MQ

The whole “event” happened so quickly that it seemed pre-planned. After all, he had to have known that the team in the building was the team the started it all.
