It’s starting to feel like Groundhog’s Day. The San Francisco 49ers are home for a Week 10 matchup with the New York Giants, and once again they are looking for their first win of the season. They sit at 0-9, and this weekend marks the most winnable game on the rest of their schedule. Things could change with injuries and other issues for the remaining teams, but as it currently stands, this is the game if the 49ers are going to get in the win column.
They face a Giants team that is playing some atrocious football as well. The Giants went 11-5 last season, and managed to earn a wild card berth. Things went south in a hurry this year, and they now sit at 1-7. People are questioning whether Eli Manning has anything left in the tank, and head coach Ben McAdoo is on the hot seat. I don’t know if a loss this week would push him off, but if any loss would cost someone their job, it would be to the winless 49ers.
This is another game with mixed feelings in the media as to who can win it. CBS is mostly on board with the Giants, ESPN is mostly on board with the 49ers, and SB Nation is right in the middle. When you’re talking about two atrocious football teams like this, I suppose it’s a toss-up for the most part.
Here are some Week 10 media picks to check out heading into the weekend. Can the 49ers finnnnnnnally get that first win?
