The line for the San Francisco 49ers Week 10 matchup with the New York Giants opened with the 49ers installed as one-point favorites. By Wednesday morning, they were one-point underdogs. I thought this was due to the question marks at the quarterback position. Some sportsbooks might have figured if Jimmy Garoppolo takes over the starting job, that changes the 49ers value. However, after asking around, that is not really the case.

Oddsmakers might move the line if a lot of amateur random bettors are betting on one side. But they are guaranteed to move the line if they get considerable wagers from professionals with track records of success. In this case, the pros think the Giants are the play here, even going on the road and both teams playing some bad football.
