Joe Staley to start on Sunday for 49ers vs. Giants

The 49ers offensive line is improved exponentially.

The San Francisco 49ers are fighting for their first win, and with all the injuries it makes things even more difficult. Joe Staley told the media on Friday that he would start vs. the New York Giants, and it would appear there has been no setback since then.

Given how bad the 49ers offensive line is, this is huge news—and a big help to a struggling position.

Staley suffered a fractured orbital bone against the Philadelphia Eagles. While there was visible frustration to the Eagles sideline following the injury, Staley appears to not have any animosity towards the incident. With all the issues towards C.J. Beathard’s protection, the 49ers rookie will need all the help he can get. Staley isn’t going to provide a wall for the quarterback, but this is certainly better than what was coming into game day.
