The San Francisco 49ers managed to get their first win of the season and in the process recorded their longest scoring play of the season as well. Quarterback C.J. Beathard connected with wide receiver Marquise Goodwin on an 83 yard touchdown play that gave the 49ers the lead in the second quarter.
Goodwin dropped to his knees, held the ball, blew a kiss to the sky and emotionally dropped his head to the ground after the score.

With the season that the 49ers have been having it was somewhat understandable but after the game, Goodwin’s heightened emotions were explained. We were told he was unavailable for interviews after the game due to a personal matter and then he announced he and his wife had lost their son due to complications during pregnancy earlier in the morning on Instagram.
We here at Niners Nation are sending love and prayers to the Goodwin family.
