Golden Nuggets: Garoppolo era may be on hold

The 49ers head into the bye week after an emotional win on Sunday. While some players have different plans for their week, the new guy will be spending time in the team’s facility. Quarterback Jimmy Garappolo will be working with Kyle Shanahan and the team’s quarterback coach, Rich Scangarello. He’s using his time to continue learning Kyle’s offense and will be throwing to the teammates that stayed for the bye.

While it is expected that Jimmy will see the field at some point this season, Kyle has no plans for when that will be. C.J. Beathard’s performance on Sunday made the decision even harder for Kyle. The game against the Seahawks immediately after the bye week was considered a great time to get him in the game, but C.J. looks like he may earned himself another start, which would push Jimmy’s debut into December.

Marquise Goodwin had a very emotional Sunday. He spoke to reporters on Tuesday during a conference call. He is in Texas with family just days removed from losing his child. He said the reason he played on Sunday was because his wife insisted on it. That and his faith were the only things that helped him get through the game according to Marquise. He played a huge part in Sunday’s win and it would not have been possible without his with and faith pushing through the emotions.
