The San Francisco 49ers are on bye this week, and so Sunday gives us a chance to either escape from football entirely, or at least just relax during the day’s action. Week 11 does not bring a ton of great matchups, but there are at least a couple worth watching.
The big one by a long shot features the Minnesota Vikings hosting the Los Angeles Rams. The two teams are 7-2, and along with the New Orleans Saints are competing for the second first round bye behind the Philadelphia Eagles. All four of these teams have had fairly sizable turnarounds compared to last year.
Minnesota went 8-8, but the big surprise is how well they’re playing with Case Keenum at quarterback, and having lost Dalvin Cook for the year. The Rams went 4-12 last season, and Sean McVay has helped lead a huge turnaround for Jared Goff and the offense. McVay and Doug Pederson are two of the front-runners for coach of the year.
