The NFL returns for Week 9 on Thursday Night Football with a matchup that is a lot more interesting than I would have expected at the start of the season. The AFC East is on display as the New York Jets host the Buffalo Bills. The game kicks off at 5:30 p.m. PT, with Mike Tirico and Cris Collinsworth calling the game from the booth, and Heather Cox on the sideline.
The Bills are 5-2 and only a half game back of the Patriots. Their defense has taken a big step forward, while their offense is doing just enough to keep them close. Meanwhile, the Jets are 3-5, and in the midst of a three-game losing streak. That being said, most did not predict they would win three games all year, and their three-game losing streak includes losses by seven, three, and five points. Suffice to say, the Jets are feisty this year.
Buffalo is a field goal favorite in this one. I don’t like betting on the Jets, but I am inclined to take the points with the home underdog on the short week. I’ll go so far as to take them outright to win!
