The question hanging over the 49ers may have been answered when general manager John Lynch met with the media on Tuesday. Since the 49ers won their 1st game and entered their bye week, the question of who will start at quarterback has been thrown around. C.J. Beathard led the 49ers to a win against the New York Giants and played well. Jimmy Garoppolo came over in a trade with the New England Patriots after backing up Tom Brady.

John Lynch talked up Jimmy Garoppolo as the quarterback of the future, but it seems like the future does not include this upcoming Sunday. While he mentioned that Kyle Shanahan will make the decision for Sunday’s game, the improvement from C.J. will allow them to not rush Jimmy onto the field. The game after the bye was marked as a good spot for Jimmy to get his 1st start, but we may have to wait to see it happen.

The 49ers waived defensive lineman Datone Jones on Tuesday. Tank Carradine could come back from injured reserve this week. He was recovering from a high-ankle sprain and could play on Sunday against NFC West rival Seattle Seahawks.
