It took a bit longer for the injury bug to bite the Seattle Seahawks like it did the San Francisco 49ers, but bite it has. They lost both Cliff Avril and Richard Sherman for the season with injuries, and found out this past week that safety Kam Chancellor will also be out with a neck injury.
That decimates one of the better secondaries in the league, which is great news for C.J. Beathard, though it’s never fun to see big-name players on the injury report. Chancellor is out in addition to cornerback Shaquill Griffin.
Offensive lineman Oday Aboushi suffered a dislocated shoulder in the team’s last game and will miss the game vs. the 49ers. Aboushi had replaced Mark Glowinski in the lineup due to the latter struggling. The team is hoping that Luke Joeckel is back from a knee injury, which would leave Ethan Pocic without a starting spot. If the Seahawks feel Pocic can move to the right side easily, he should be able to start in Aboushi’s place.
Of particular note for the 49ers is running back Mike Davis, who was abysmal in limited action with San Francisco — seriously abysmal — but looked very good against the Atlanta Falcons a week ago. Unfortunately for him, he sustained a groin injury in that game and is doubtful for Sunday.
Below is the full Seahawks injury report going into Sunday’s game.
