It’s time for football once again! The San Francisco 49ers are through their bye week, and set to start the final stretch of their 2017 schedule. The 49ers host the Seattle Seahawks at Levi’s Stadium in Week 12, looking to build on their first win of the season. The game gets going at 1:05 p.m. PT on FOX, and will have Kenny Albert and Ronde Barber calling the game from the booth, with Kristina Pink on the sideline.
The 49ers managed their first win prior to the bye, beating the New York Giants 31-21 and looking pretty impressive in doing so. The Giants stink, so the bar was low, but at 0-9, the 49ers desperately needed a win. Now, they host a Seahawks team coming off a tough 34-31 loss to Atlanta. It was the Seahawks second loss in three games, with both losses coming at CenturyLink Field.
The 49ers head into this game relatively healthy, but with a couple question marks on the injury report. Free safety Adrian Colbert is out with a broken thumb, and will be replaced by some combination of Antone Exum, Dexter McCoil, and potentially Leon Hall. The bigger questions right now are Trent Brown and Solomon Thomas. Brown injured his shoulder on Friday and is a game-time decision. Thomas got in limited work for the week, but is still looking like a game-time decision as well.
The Seahawks will once again be without cornerback Richard Sherman, strong safety Kam Chancellor, and defensive end Cliff Avril. They also will be without cornerback Shaquill Griffin and guard Oday Aboushi. Mike Davis is listed as doubtful which means he probably will be inactive as well.
The 49ers are a 6.5-point underdog, which marks the lowest spread in this series since they were a 6.5-point home underdog in October 2015. They lost that game 20-3. The two teams met in Week 2, with San Francisco a 13.5-point underdog at CenturyLink Field. Seattle won 12-9, thanks to Russell Wilson’s late touchdown after the two sides spent much of the game exchanging field goals. The 49ers have covered the last two games, both as double digit underdogs.
