49ers-Seahawks weather forecast: Rain and wind could slow this game down

The weather is usually not an issue at Levi’s Stadium, but it could be in Week 12.

The San Francisco 49ers generally have good weather for their games, with Santa Clara offering very temperate conditions. It can get really hot with the lack of shade at Levi’s Stadium, but in terms of playing conditions, there’s generally not much to worry about on a week-to-week basis.

This weekend will offer conditions that the Seattle Seahawks might be a little more accustomed to. The 49ers and Seahawks kick off at 1:05 p.m. PT on Sunday, and it appears we’ll see rain and wind at Levi’s Stadium.

Weather projections vary, but all project rain throughout the game. Weather Underground has showers starting at 11 a.m. getting harder at noon, back to showers at 1 p.m., increasing to rain at 2, and then back down to showers the rest of the afternoon. They are expecting a little over one-tenth of an inch of rain during the game.

Matt Maiocco found a website saying there would be winds out of the southwest between 17 and 22 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 29 mph. However, Weather Underground and Weather.com have winds no higher than 9 mph.

The rain will be something to watch, but wind is really what matters when it comes to NFL games. If the weather gets particularly inclement on Sunday, it could slow this game down to a certain extent.
