San Francisco 49ers current starting quarterback C.J. Beathard found out he avoided long term injury after MRI results came back negative. He suffered a knee contusion and and a hip strain and was very sore after he took three sacks and 13 hits from the Seattle defense.
Which quarterback will start in Chicago is still up in the air and Shanahan will announce his decision at his Wednesday press conference. Shanahan dod say that he was pleased with Beathard’s play throughout the game. Saying that although he’d probably like to a have a few back, it really wasn’t more that a few. He complimented the rookie on never being in skittish and standing in the pocket.
Beathard played up until the final 1:07 of the game when Jimmy Garoppolo took over after his injury. Beathard’s stats for the day were 22/38 for 201 yards, one interception and a final rating of 61.4.
Garoppolo took three snaps, went 2/2 for 18 yards and a touchdown and a rating of 143.8.
