Another week comes to an end, and December is just about upon us. The NFL wrapped up Week 12 with the Baltimore Ravens edging out the Houston Texans on Monday Night Football. It’s hard to say much about a game that I just wasn’t overly concerned about. Feel the excitement, NFL!
We’re back with Week 13 NFL power rankings as the San Francisco 49ers try and figure out their quarterback situation. Head coach Kyle Shanahan said he will announce the team’s Week 13 starting quarterback on Wednesday. That won’t make or break Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears, but it provides one reason to watch a matchup of two awful football teams.
I didn’t drop the 49ers in my latest power rankings, and the bottom six remain the same. The top handful of teams also remain the same as we have both ends pulling away (good and bad) from everybody else.
The Philadelphia Eagles remain No. 1, but they head on a huge three-game road trip starting in Week 13. They travel to face the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams, and then visit the New York Giants in a divisional matchup. If they walk away from this stretch with three wins, they would be heavy favorites to come out of the NFC come Super Bowl time.
On the AFC side, the New England Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers are the top two teams, and it’s not all that close. The Tennessee Titans and Jacksonville Jaguars are 7-4 right now, with Tennessee holding the tiebreaker edge thanks to a win in Jacksonville. Both have been inconsistent, and seeing Jacksonville lose in Arizona is not exactly awe-inspiring.
Meanwhile. the Kansas City Chiefs dropped to 6-5 following their third straight loss, and are falling apart. They have the Los Angeles Chargers and Oakland Raiders hot on their tail, and will host both of them in Week 14 and 15. That will make or break the AFC West.
Here’s what our Week 13 power rankings look like.
