Rishard Matthews to feature Colin Kaepernick Know Your Rights Camp for “My Cause My Cleats”

NFL players are allowed to pick a cause and wear cleats that support it in Week 13. The Tennessee Titans wide receiver is supporting Colin Kaepernick with his cleats.

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Rishard Matthews has decided to use this weekend’s “My Cause My Cleats” opportunity to support his former Nevada teammate, Colin Kaepernick. Matthews’ cleats feature Kaepernick’s name, a mention of his Know Your Rights Camp, and a drawing of Kaepernick kneeling, with an afros shaped like a fist in a black power salute.

The NFL normally limits the amount of creativity players are allowed to have in the cleats they wear for a game. However, the league has created a “My Cause My Cleats” weekend each year in which players can wear their own designed cleats to raise awareness about a given cause. You can check out some of the 49ers cleats here.

Matthews has remained in the Titans locker room during the Anthem since Week 2, only coming out in Week 10 to show respect for the military Veterans’ Day weekend. Matthews is the son of a Marine, and his brother died two years ago as a Marine in Afghanistan.

Below is a look at Matthews’ cleats, with the following caption.
